Primacy of the Text

Puritan preaching was powerful because of the focus on the text and the emphasis of applying Scripture. The problem was that it exposed only a small piece of text and extrapolated it into a doctrine. Instead, Larsen tells us to take a natural thought unit in the text. Exegesis must have precedence.
