Delivery: Introduction

How do I speak in a way that arrests hearers?

Introduction

Welcome to PreachingToday.com continuing education. These interactive classes are designed for those who desire to keep growing in faithfulness and effectiveness as preachers of God's Word. The classes include reading assignments, audio workshops, self-evaluations, and recommended exercises for implementing the lessons learned.

This class covers the subject of sermon delivery. While we preachers may put most of our effort into what we will say, the fact is, how we say it has a disproportionately large influence on the effectiveness of the message. Almost without exception, preachers with a wide influence have an excellent delivery.

In the first segment of this class, you will read and listen to workshops on what makes for an excellent sermon delivery. In the second segment, you will learn further criteria for evaluating delivery and then listen to outstanding examples from Preaching Today Audio. In the third segment, you will find a plan for evaluating and improving your delivery. And finally, we offer additional resources for those who want to pursue the topic further, including more examples of effective preachers.

Let's get started!
