Supplemental Vitamins for the Body and Soul

The lack of sun in England is no longer a laughing matter. It's turning into a health risk. A recent study by the government's Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition has recommended that "Britons should take a supplemental vitamin D as a precaution." As the story says, "No sun can mean a lack of vitamin D, as that is where humans get 90 percent of the vitamin." A lack of vitamin D can lead to heart disease, type-1 diabetes, cancer, and multiple sclerosis.

Possible Preaching Angle:

While we can't replace spending time with the Son in his Word, there are supplemental spiritual disciplines that can be added to our lives to help us walking in a "healthier" manner in our spiritual lives. What supplemental spiritual disciplines help you draw closer to the Son? Are you adding some vitamin P to your life—prayer. What about some vitamin C—community?
