I listened casually as my 9-year-old son recited the bicycle safety rules he had to memorize for a scouting merit badge.

"Obey all traffic rules. Drive with traffic, not against it. Use hand signals for turning or stopping," he recited.

He caught my full attention, however, when he said, "All Presbyterians have the right of way."
