According to veteran pastor Tom Nelson, this sermon topic literally transformed the people in his church. What was it? Drum roll please …. It was Nelson's sustained commitment to preach on the connection between Sunday worship and Monday-Saturday work. About 10-15 years into his ministry Nelson asked his church family to forgive him for not equipping them for their vocation. In this week's interview, he goes on to say, "Recovering a more robust theology of vocation has made a bigger difference in our congregation than anything I've ever done. That's not hyperbole. It changes people's lives …. It changes them when they see that their work is an act of worship."
