'Money can't make you happy, but it can make you less sad.'

This, according to new research from U.S. Census data, tracking income and reported levels of happiness. Psychologist Kostadin Kushley "... found that a higher income doesn't affect how happy you are day to day. But wealthier people reported feeling sad less often. The group concluded that happiness and sadness are two separate states and money can help you manage unhappiness."

Possible Preaching Angle:

It's an objective reminder of a principle that Scripture's told us for a long time. Money, in its proper place can be a blessing—alleviating worries and practical concerns. But can it bring happiness? No. Joy? Even less so. So, while financial provision is important, let's keep the cash in its place, not looking to it for satisfaction that it cannot deliver.
