A Shocking New Workout Product

Fitness-tracking smart wristbands are the latest workout rage, using smart data and performance tracking to help users record and meet their goals. But a recent product—the aptly named "Pavlok"—goes a little farther than its competitors in motivating users. The wristband shocks you if you don't meet your goals for the day, in the belief that like Pavlov's dog, your response to stimuli is a powerful training method.

Quoted by The Telegraph, the device's "creator cites a piece of research from Duke University which suggests that as much as 40 per cent of our days are filled with habitual behavior, rather than directed by conscious choice."

Possible Preaching Angle:

It's a shocking little reminder of the importance of habit and the power of pattern. Are you building discipline into your life? If not, how can you structure your days, not for useless striving, but to echo Paul's words from 1 Timothy 4:10: "For to this end we toil and strive …"?
