Amen to the previous comment. We too easily allow the "learned" of our culture to "pontificate." What makes their witnesses any more credible than ours? Jesus said that the world will hate us. (John 15:18)

It is noteworthy how confrontational Jesus was throughout His ministry (cf. Luke 4:16-30; 5:17-26; 6:1-11; 11:42-47; etc.). In the West, we have a tendency to think that offending others is sinful. This is not necessarily so.
