U2's Bono on Talking about God

Let's face it: God's not exactly a welcome guest in the wild and wicked world of rock 'n' roll. But that's precisely why Bono, lead singer of the popular Irish band U2, finds God to be such a powerful and provocative subject for the band's songs.

"I sometimes think I have a kind of Tourette's syndrome, where if you're not supposed to say something, it becomes very attractive to do so," he once said. "You're in a rock bandwhat can't you talk about? God? Okay, here we go. You're supposed to write songs about sex and drugs. Well, no I won't."
