Getting Away from Godhood

I once picked up a 5-year-old at vacation Bible school in the Kool-Aid and cookie queue. I took a bite from his cookie. He looked very comfortable as I held him. I said, "I bet you don't know who I am."

He said, "God."

It so unnerved me I set him down and went back to my study. I realized this is something that children do to us. When you get this grandiose feeling from being praised, how do you come down from the esteem of this reluctant godhood? You go home. There your humanity is obvious.
