Filling Time, Killing Time

The Washington Post recently published an article on the top five time killers in the office. The number one culprit? Email (followed closely by meetings). "How many times have you grumbled about your email? Then, in a burst of faux productivity, fired off a bunch just to get them out of your inbox? How often have you felt virtuously busy and productive all day, only, at the end of it to realize all you've done is … e-mail?"

Possible Preaching Angle:

It's a reminder of how easy it is to deceive ourselves about what is important. Busy does not equal mattering. We can fill our time, only to find that we have killed our time.
