Prince William Becomes Rescue Pilot

In September 2013, Britain's Prince William, who is second in line to the throne after his father Prince Charles, completed a three-year stint as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue helicopter pilot. In March of 2015 the 32-year-old prince took up his new job as an air ambulance pilot as an employee of Bond Air Services.

Kensington Palace announced William's new job, based at Cambridge airport in eastern England, will involve responding to emergencies ranging from road traffic accidents to heart attacks. He will reportedly be paid an annual salary of USD $59,000, but will donate it in full to charity.

Possible Preaching Angles: This story made world news headlines, but the story of the Bible is far more surprising. The King of Kings doesn't just commandeer a helicopter and rescue us from above. He descends into our mess, dies in that mess, and then rescues us not just from accidents but from our own sin. Now that is truly newsworthy!
