Excellent article. Great examples to get your ideas across. It's really helpful.
Good job, Rick! How to do Christ-centered preaching is a crucial, and often debated, topic. For those interested in additional reading on this subject, I highly recommend Abe Kuruvilla's book Privilege the Text! (especially his thoughts on Christiconic preaching).
I found these reminders to be both practical and inspiring! How I wish I had had more of this perspective in my preparation over the past 40 years of teaching and preaching! Maybe you can teach an old pastor new tricks! Better still, maybe there's hope that all of who represent God's heart hit the "bull's eye" of God's Word along with His heart!
I found this article to be a great reminder of the true "bull's eye" of preaching as it relates to the heart of God for His people! I wish I had had more of this perspective in my preparation in the past 40 years of speaking...but maybe you can teach an old pastor new tricks! May this mindset for preparation go viral! Thanks!
