Let's Gogh to the Movies

Even if you don't know much about art, chances are you could recognize a Vincent van Gogh painting. The colors, the swirls of paint, the starry nights and self-portraits—they're so distinctive. And even if you don't know anything about the upcoming movie Loving Vincent, a quick glance at the trailer would make it pretty clear that van Gogh is the Vincent mentioned in the title. This biopic won't be live-action or computer-animated: rather, it's made out of "animated paintings in the swirling style of van Gogh's canvases," with more than 100 of the artist's works playing a part in the plot. Thirty painters are currently working to complete a total of 56,800 frames to create the film.

Possible Preaching Angle:

It's easy for us to wonder at the painstaking detail that goes into a project like this—how much more can we wonder at the one who knit each of us together and knows each hair on our heads?
