Floating Pods for Homeless

Instead of complaining about the surge of homeless people in London, an architect has designed something to help. James Furzer is attempting to create temporary plywood pods that attach to buildings and would be suspended in the air by steel beams. These "floating pods" are just a concept right now but interest is growing in the possibility of making them a reality.

Jennifer Barnes, a representative from Centrepoint, another homelessness charity, praised Furzer's efforts. "It's really encouraging to see talented people like James focused on tackling the growing problem of rough sleeping in the capital," she said. The simply designed structures won Furzer an award recently, which has helped bring the discussion about homelessness to the forefront of society in London.
