Survey Identifies Our "Leadership Crisis"
The yearly "National Study of Confidence in Leadership" conducted by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard tracks the public's confidence in America's leadership. Here are the results from the most recent (2012) study:
- 69 percent of Americans think we have a leadership crisis in the country today.
- 70 percent agree that unless we get better leaders, the U.S. will decline as a nation.
- 68 percent disagree with this statement: "Overall, our country's leaders are effective and to a good job."
- But 81 percent of those surveyed feel that the problems we face today can be solved through effective leadership.
