Reconciling with the Father

Field of Dreams is a fantasy-drama about baseball, the pursuit of a dream, and reconciliation between a father and son. Though the film borders on the thoroughly unbelievable (with a "voice" talking from a corn field, old baseball players walking in and out of a center-field "heaven," and time travel back to a town in 1972), it somehow gets us to suspend our disbelief because of its thematic realism.
