Responsibility to Needy Neighbor
I was driving the expressway into Chicago early one Sunday morning when I noticed off in the ditch a headlight. As I went by, I looked closer and barely saw an empty car with the driver's door wide open. Should I stop?
I immediately remembered a story I had seen in the news a few months before of an older woman whose car had gone off the highway in Florida. She was trapped in her car for three days and nearly died. And of course I next thought of Jesus' story of the Good Samaritan. I have a responsibility to make sure someone isn't in that car, I thought. So ...
