Why Would Any Pastor Preach on This?

Mike Woodruff says, "It's been a long time since I've dreaded preaching on a topic as much as I did this one." The topic was abortion. For years Woodruff avoided the subject because he knew women who regretted their past abortions and he didn't want to add to their pain. He also wondered what he had to say as "an affluent white male." But I'm thankful Woodruff had the guts to preach this week's sermon—"Abortion: Behind the Headlines." And I think you'll find that he achieved a Jesus-like blend of conviction and compassion. The sermon is also loaded with additional notes and resources to further your own thinking and preaching.
