I greatly appreciated this article. Providing the texts of Genesis and Amos as an example, made the points easy to follow. Though some texts point to Jesus in an obvious way, the author's presentation of the questions concerning Jesus, help to guide how to wrestle with the text. Outstanding job!

Incredible way of rightly deviding the word of TRUTH in the story of God in Jesus Christ for the intent and predetermined outcome for HIS world and HIS people.

Good job, Rick! How to do Christ-centered preaching is a crucial, and often debated, topic. For those interested in additional reading on this subject, I highly recommend Abe Kuruvilla's book Privilege the Text! (especially his thoughts on Christiconic preaching).

I found these reminders to be both practical and inspiring! How I wish I had had more of this perspective in my preparation over the past 40 years of teaching and preaching! Maybe you can teach an old pastor new tricks! Better still, maybe there's hope that all of who represent God's heart hit the "bull's eye" of God's Word along with His heart!
