Topic: How to establish a vision for your church, and carry it out.

Introduction

  • Willow Creek Community Church's goals are based on three strategies.

Strategic Focus 1: We need to reach an percentage of the Chicagoland area with the gospel message.

  • It was evangelistic intensity that fueled the launching of this church.
  • We will achieve this goal by teaching the Contagious Christianity course, strengthening our weekend services, inviting seekers to our small groups, starting a Gen. X ministry and increasing attendance to 20,000.

Strategic Focus 2: We're going to move the congregation of C toward community, spiritual maturity, and full participation within the life of the church.

  • We will achieve this goal by doubling the number of people in small groups, increasing New Community attendance to 8,000 and increasing church membership to 8,000.

Strategic Focus 3: We are going to invest a greater percentage of our lives and our knowledge and our resources with those in our city, our nation, and our world.

  • To obtain this goal, we will try to involve 8,000 people each year in ministries outside the church, and increase the number of Willow Creek Association churches to 4,000.

Conclusion

  • God appointed you for such a time as this, to help carry out our vision. And we need you.
