Kanye West, a hip hop producer and rapper, wants a new version of Scripture. That would not be so unusual, except that he thinks he should be a character in the new Bible.

"I bring up historical subjects in a way that makes kids want to learn about them," said West. "I'm an inspirational speaker. I changed the sound of music more than one time…. For all those reasons, I'd be a part of the Bible. I'm definitely in the history books already."

Some might roll their eyes, raise an eyebrow, and wonder if West isn't one step shy of blasphemy. At worst, however, he is simply stating the obvious. He is already in the Bible—as are we all. Any time Scripture speaks of sinners that a holy God died to save, the Bible is talking about Kanye, and it's talking about each one of us.
