Teens Mistakenly Steal Cardboard Cake

A group of Minnesota teens were apprehended recently after attempting to steal a cake from a local grocery store. As if the embarrassment of getting caught by the authorities wasn't enough punishment, it was then discovered that the cake the group had stolen was not even real—it was a cardboard display cake. The grocery store decided not to press charges, but the local police department and news stations did find an opportunity for some fun, posting the story with phrases like "#nocakeforyou" and "not-so-sweet surprise."

Potential Preaching Angles: Sin often comes disguised as something sweet and satisfying, but in the end offers little to quench our hearts' desires. We must remember that the "cake" offered by sin is nothing in comparison to the feast provided for us by our Heavenly Father.
