Millennials Losing Trust in Institutional Church

A report from Pew Research concluded that younger generations tend to have more positive views than their elders of a number of institutions that play a big part in American society. But that doesn't hold true for two institutions—the news media and churches.

For instance, in 2010, nearly three out of four (or 73 percent to be exact) Millennials said agreed that churches have a positive impact on the country. As of 2015, only 55 percent of Millennials said that churches are having a positive impact. That's a steep 18 percent drop in only five years. Views among older generations have changed little over this time period.
